We booked a hike through the surrounding mountainous area around Dalyan. The weather was unbelievably hot; clear skies, bright sunshine, but with plenty of shade. Nevertheless, water was vital.

The guide stated that this particular route was ‘medium’ in difficulty…there were parts where a literal leap across a fatal fall was necessary to continue.

We visited Fethiye in the morning before the hike, the markets are amazing to see. The products they sell are stacked in patterns underneath giant plastic sheets creating a sweltering green house effect environment. Most of the stalls were entirely family run; children could be seen completing homework or playing around the vans behind each stall. Exhausted workers slept behind their counters during the hottest hours.

Under the midday sun, my XT2 didn’t last for long until the heat was too much for the little mirrorless camera to function…I did manage to capture some beautiful views while I could…
